We are so delighted to have had the chance

to meet with many of you during this year's Summer Day Trips!

Summer is now officially over and autumn is beginning to settle in. Our series of day trips this year culminated with our final jaunt to Bournemouth on Sunday 2nd September. With an almost packed coach, everyone that came had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect for a day by the coast as you will see in the image gallery of photos and videos we took.

These day trips we organise every summer give us all the chance to break away from the daily routine/ rigmarole we experience as renal patients. We are only able to do this with the kindness and generosity of donations we receive from benefactors that share our vision and goals. As a relatively small charity, all of the committee members work on a voluntary basis with no financial assistance from corporate sponsors or government. We receive some amazing feedback from our day trippers and we always encourage and welcome the wider renal community to give us their comments or suggestions on how we can continue to provide a valuable service to our patients from the west London renal units.

If you missed out on our day trips this year, you will be glad to hear that we're making plans for next year already! Normally we ask passengers to fill in a questionnaire on the return journey to get a better understanding of how their day trip went. We would particularly like to know where you would most like to go next year. We've had suggestions including the Cotswolds, Blackpool, Amsterdam, France, the Lake District, Disneyland… The Isle of Wight trip was a very popular destination this year. Next year, we may have two trips to meet the demand for tickets we received this summer. We know from experience that these events do take a lot of time and effort to organise, as we're sure you will agree. Planning in advance allows us to "iron out" any obstacles that we may face.

Our next major event will be our Christmas party which will take place on Sunday 16th December. Full details will be advertised nearer the event so do pencil us in, in your diaries.

 

Finally, we want to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all once again, for giving us the opportunity to be part of your summer this year. Here's to a great rest of the year for us all, from us all.
